hello!
3 days of work done.haha it's been good.the kids seem to listen to me and like me, so yup that's good.haha although maybe it's cos i'm new, so there's this novelty of calling "
jie jie rachel!" and then telling me all their stories.or maybe i'm already being bullied and i don't even know it.haha.i pray they'll remain like this though.this i can handle.(: met with my first rebellious kid today though.he refused to do work, claiming he doesn't know how to do and everything.i was like, oh no how.haha i'm not the fiercest and strictest person in the world.but in the end he submitted and sat down to do work.haha thank God.
Getting to know the kids better.discovered alot of relations in the home.like so and so are siblings and stuff like that.haha never thought that there'll be so much work though.but somehow the time just goes.in the morning i'm preparing work for them, noting who has spelling when, who has tests, who doesn't like to do what, etc etc.and then during lunch i'll sit with them, asking how's school, what exciting things happened, being their friend.after lunch is their study sessions, and this is where time flies.and then before i know it, it's like 6pm.
mmm from this past 3 days, i've learnt that all kids like and want attention.you listen to them and appear really interested in all that they say, and they'll be your best friend for the day.haha and it helps if you remember important things, and ask them how it went.like if someone was sick, or had a test or spelling.haha but sometimes they'll get so caught up with their stories that they won't let you go.it's quite sad though, to see these kids and know that circumstances have put them there.and because of that, they have no interest in studies because everything seems beyond them.i don't think it's because they are stupid, cos if you throw them out on the streets they'll probably survive.
anyway, yesterday most of them got to go home for the weekend.it's quite cute to see the little ones carry their bags, bathed and changed, and excited.haha i guess its some form of freedom at last.
tuition nights start next week on monday, and i still have lots of work to do!haha, i actually do look forward to going to work.i'm doing work that is admin-based, and at the same time, interacting with kids.haha.we did this spiritual gifts survey thing during cell, and i'm gifted in service and admin.haha, i rest my case.
smiles @ 14:50.
